Louisiana has become the first state in the US to require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in every public school classroom. Republican Governor Jeff Landry signed the law into legislation on Wednesday requiring a poster-sized display of the religious directives in “large, easily, readable font” in all classrooms, from kindergarten (nursery) to state-funded universities.

Sainsbury’s has struck a deal to sell its banking business to NatWest. The agreement could see NatWest take on around one million customer accounts, as well as £1.4bn of unsecured personal loans, £1.1bn of credit card balances and £2.6bn of customer deposits.
