The United States says it will provide an extra $713m in aid to Ukrainian efforts to repel Russian forces in the ongoing conflict. $322m of will go now directly to the government in Ukraine with $165m for ammunition costs. The additional $713m will be used for buying equipment from former Soviet Union countries, authorities say.
Ukraine has requested more ‘heavy weapons’ from the United States, which has now agreed to supply howitzer-type artillery.
