A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a human torso wrapped in plastic was found at a nature reserve.
A murder investigation was launched after the discovery at Kersal Wetlands in Salford, Greater Manchester, on Thursday.
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday night and remains in custody, police have said.
Greater Manchester Police said on Saturday that the human torso is thought to have belonged to a man aged over 40.
Officers said they believed he had been dead for a matter of days.
Police said on Saturday afternoon: “Our focus remains on identifying the man, ensuring his loved ones are informed and supported, and that we do all we can to establish what has led to this tragic outcome.”
