Beyonce’s childhood home was saved from burning down after a fire broke out early on Christmas Day.

Located in the Third Ward neighbourhood of Houston, Texas, the Formation singer lived at the two-story house until she was five years old.

At around 2am on Monday a fire broke out at the home, with the Houston Fire Department arriving at the scene within three to five minutes, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The current residents managed to safely evacuate without assistance. No injuries were reported.

Houston Fire Department Chief Justin Barnes told local TV station KTRK: “(The firefighters) did a great job.

“I’m going to say in less than 10 minutes, we had a really good grip on this fire.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Beyonce Knowles’ family bought the home in 1982.

The star was seen taking photos of the property when she was in her hometown for her Renaissance World Tour in September.
