COVID-19 has led to a ‘dramatic rise’ in reliance on food banks. For some families, simply having enough to eat during lockdown has been a challenge, and many are relying on free school meal vouchers and food parcels to get by.

Now the National Food Strategy says current eating habits in England are a ‘slow motion disaster’, pointing out the increase of 3.3 million new Universal Credit applicants over the lockdown period so far.
