Kanye West could be about to reveal new music after reports the rapper will drop the much-hyped Donda imminently.

The global superstar, who is currently going through divorce proceedings with former partner Kim Kardashian, will host a listening party for the album later this week, after it was repeatedly teased but never released.

The album, which is named after his late mother, is set to be the follow-up to his 2019 gospel album Jesus Is King.

Promoters Live Nation say West will host A Donda Listening Event in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday, but did not give any more details.

Rumours of the rapper’s return emerged over the weekend after influencer Justin Laboy revealed that West had played Donda to him and basketball player Kevin Durant in Las Vegas.

He tweeted: “Kanye West album is really done. When it drops this week, we probably not going to listen to anything else for a while.. Let me go enjoy all the current artist I’m listening to until then. God bless.”

Laboy added: “The production is light years ahead of it’s time, and the bars sound like he’s broke & hungry trying to get signed again. Any artist who plan on dropping soon should just push it back.”

In July last year, West said that Donda was dropping very soon – but it was never released.

Launching into a flurry of now-deleted tweets at the time about his soon-to-be ex-wife Kardashian, he said: “ima focus on the music now.”

He also previously shared the track listing for the album, with track titles including Praise God, God’s Country and Off The Grid.

The musician-come-fashion designer has been almost silent in recent months since his ill-fated run for the White House in November, and has moved to his ranch in Wyoming.
