A huge wildfire broke out in Puntagorda, a village in La Palma, one of Spain’s Canary Islands, on Saturday, July 15, as much of southern Europe sweltered in a heatwave.

Footage released by the Spanish Civil Guard shows fire engulfing a forested area on a hillside.
