The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for the Russian president Vladimir Putin for alleged war crimes in Ukraine.

That means Putin will not be able to travel to any possible future peace talks if they are held in a country that recognises the ICC.

And it raises questions over how realistic it is to expect that the Russian leader will appear in the dock.
