Rapper T.I. has been arrested in Amsterdam, after the bike he was riding collided with a police car, knocking off its wing mirror.

The Live Your Life rapper recorded a video from his cell in the Dutch capital explaining the reason for his latest incarceration.

Captioned “Free ME”, the performer said: “So I’m locked up now.

“I’m obviously not supposed to have my phone as I’m biking, and because the policeman ran into me and broke his [side mirror], and because I didn’t have my passport on me.

“I don’t know, it’ll be fine. It’ll be fine, but he was extremely upset.”

He added: “I’m still not upset – I’m having a phenomenal time. They arrested me and didn’t even put me in handcuffs. They just opened the door and invited me to the backseat. I obliged.”

The rapper said he attempted to pay his bond in cash, but was refused as they did not accept it as a payment type.

More on The Netherlands

T.I., real name Clifford Harris Jr, said his short stint behind bars (which he later revealed lasted 25 minutes) was part of the culture of the country, adding: “This is living life to the fullest, in the moment.”

He is currently in the Netherlands as part of his 11th wedding anniversary celebrations with wife Tiny.

He also spent a short time behind bars in 2004 for violating his drugs probation.
