The Monty Python star Terry Jones has died at the age of 77, four years after being diagnosed with a rare form of dementia.

Jones directed and starred in The Life of Brian, something his fellow Python Sir John Cleese said was the greatest gift he gave us all.

Sir Michael Palin spoke to Sky News and has been paying tribute to “one of his closest, most valued friends”.
